SUSAN HARTZLER ON WHAT MAKES CRISTAL CLARKE SO VALUABLE TO THE COMMUNITY
Montecito Realtor Cristal Clarke has made the news again. It’s not surprising that over the years Cristal has been featured in many articles on the topic of real estate -- locally, regionally, and nationally. After all, she is ranked No. 1 overall in the Santa Barbara MLS (Multiple Listing Service) by sales volume, No. 2 overall in the Santa Barbara MLS by units, and No. 1 BHHS (Berkshire Hathaway Home Services) agent in California by sales volume. To say she has her finger on the pulse of the real estate market is an understatement.
Earning Media Attention One Accolade at a Time
The Santa Barbara News-Press, Southern California's longest-running news publication, put the award-winning Realtor in the lead of their story "Real Estate Companies Give Back." And for good reason. Cristal’s donation of $100,000 to the Santa Barbara chapter of Berkshire Hathaway Charities will help the community in numerous ways.
“As a result of the restrictions imposed on businesses due to COVID-19, what became apparent at a very early stage was the need to support local businesses, which are the mainstay and fabric of our community, more than ever,” Cristal told the News-Press in an email. “It was important that once we emerged from the restrictions, our local businesses were still in place to serve our community.”
Reporter Katie Zehnder shared more quotes from Cristal in the article: “I made the decision very early on to pay forward to all the people I do business with — restaurants, dentists, chiropractors, photographers, hairdressers, etc. — so they had some sort of income to support themselves during those uncertain times.”
“Thankfully, with the support of this great community, I believe we are stronger now than before, and it is gratifying to be able to continue the support through this donation to the Santa Barbara chapter of The Charitable Foundation.”
The Santa Barbara News-Press also put Cristal on the front page in the 2020 story pictured above regarding the state of our local real estate market. In the article, Cristal shared about the lure of living on the American Rivera.
“I think people want to be here,” Cristal told reporter Christian Whittle for the article. “They see the beauty that Montecito and Santa Barbara has to offer and they’re not thinking about ‘I’d love to live there in the future’. They’re really putting it into place now, be it primary homes or secondary homes.”
Cristal’s expert opinions regarding the state of the California real estate industry were also used in an RLS Media article titled Fewer States Under Lockdown: The Breakdown and Industry Response. For readers not in the real estate profession, RLS Media calls itself “the residential real estate industry’s definitive source for news and information for real estate’s most profitable and productive professionals.”
Accolades From Cristal’s Clients

They cite her in-depth knowledge of the local, regional, and national real estate market combined with her priceless domestic and international contacts.
