The last remaining part of the historic 70-acre El Mirador estate, owned by the Armour family of Chicago for over 100 years, this 13.75-acre parcel holds a world of possibilities for its new owner.  The estate's modern history began in 1916 when the Armours purchased the property as a wedding gift for their daughter.

Over the years, the property was divided and sold, down to this last remaining parcel. These magical acres host the original guard house, grotto, ruins of the original house and unlimited potential. There is truly nothing like it.

At the dramatic entrance, gates embellished with a plaque reading “El Mirador”  open to an enchanting palm-lined driveway that wanders through the grounds, inclusive of lush Japanese gardens, peaceful lagoons, wondrous paths lined with century-old flora and The Eaton House ruins that are now a stone grotto with the original man-made stalactites.

The Mediterranean-style Main House, a substitute for the originally-designed 29,000 square foot mansion, was built in 1920 by Charles Urton who also built Santa Barbara's Granada Building. At a little over 1,900 square feet, it hosts 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. It was here that the daughter of the original Armour Family, Lolita “Tita” Lanning, called home until she passed away in late 2018, marking the end of an era. As one of the greatest estates in Montecito, El Mirador has made an everlasting impact on the community's history. Its legend and lore will never be forgotten.
