Creating the cat friendly home

cat at home with a couple to show a cat friendly homeIn a recent blog, I shared intel on how developers are courting pet loving home hunters. Being the dog lover that I am, the blog covered ideas for canines but did not include info on creating the cat friendly home. Today, I am going to rectify that situation by sharing clever ways to make your home the cat’s meow.

Any cat lover will tell you that cats are known for being aloof, independent, and seemingly indifferent to people. Yet they’re beloved the world over and extremely popular on the Internet with more than two million videos and 26 billion views on YouTube.

A recent sale at a Sotheby’s auction of a massive 227-pound painting, believed to be the “world’s largest cat painting,” was bought in New York for $826,000. The piece, featuring 42 cats on a 6-feet-by-8.5-feet canvas, was so large and heavy that a special, reinforced wall had to be erected to display the masterpiece. Don’t miss reading the incredible story behind the painting.

Although you missed the opportunity to own this incredible work of art, check out these 25 awesome furniture design ideas for cat lovers from Bored Panda. My favorites include:

1) The cat burger bed

2) The cat bedroom

3) The coffee table that doubles as a cat playhouse.

4) Add a pEiPod to any room in your home. Cats love them and they have a modern look and come in a variety of colors to match your décor.

With these considerate additions, your feline will never want to leave your cat friendly home. And you won’t want to leave home either once you find your new dream home in Santa Barbara, Montecito or the surrounding communities.
