You probably have an abundant amount of cleaning supplies in your home, for the different surfaces, carpets, bathroom, kitchens and more. I have them too! I was surprised to find out about some household items that can multi-task and be used as cleaning supplies. Here’s a list of 9 products that you already have in your home to clean stains and spots.
1) SHAVING CREAM
Did you know you could remove stains from the carpet with shaving cream? It’s true! The foam breaks down the grease sticking to the fibers making cleaning carpets a breeze.
2) ICE CUBES
Did you know that ice cubes are the best solution to remove gum out of your carpet or furniture upholstery? Just hold an ice cube on the gum for at least 30 seconds. It will harden and be easier to scrape it off the fibers. (Peanut butter works too!)
3) WHITE BREAD
Did you know you could use white bread to get any greasy fingerprints off your walls? Just rub a slice of white bread over the stains and they will simply disappear! The absorbent nature of the bread is a natural grime cleaner.
Did you know you could clean burn stains from pots with cola or other types of soda? Just allow the pots and pans to soak in cola over night. The acid will work on the stains and by morning, when you wash the pots and pans, the stains will easily wipe off.
Did you know you could bring back the lustre of wood with beer? Just apply some with a clean soft piece of cloth and rub gently. Leave the wood to dry and you will notice an amazing difference.
6) OLD SOCKS
Did you know your old socks could turn to dust rags? They can actually help polish windows and other surfaces. Just slip the sock over your hand to wipe away dust and fingerprints from any surface.
7) COFFEE FILTERS
Did you know coffee filters make awesome window and mirror cleaner? Simply spray window cleaner on the glass surface and wipe with the filter. The result will be shining glass.
8) TENNIS BALL
Did you know you could easily remove scuff marks with a tennis ball? Just squirt a bit of water over the offending mark and rub with a tennis ball.
9) FABRIC SOFTENER SHEET
Did you know your baseboards could be cleaned with a fabric softener sheet? It will also keep them cleaner for a longer period.
